My Approach
An herbal wellness consultation opens up an opportunity to come together in a supportive space and have an in-depth and honest conversation about your health concerns. I invite you to listen to those parts of your health that may be slipping through the cracks.
Herbalism is not only just about the herbs, but also about a well rounded and balanced lifestyle. It is a practice, a goal, a way of being.
I am here to help shift the lens in which we look at our health and our modern healthcare system.
I focus on preventative care, root causes of symptomatic expression, constitutional theory, nutrition, self care, and use my education in pulse and tongue readings to widen the lens of the body. These wellness sessions take dedication and accountability on both ends, the client and practitioner. If we are working with chronic issues that have been acquired over years, it will take patience and work to bring the body back into harmony.
You Have My Word…
I promise to hold this space with grace and respect when times get intense. I will show up for you in my full power in this entire process, I will create a safe container for you to express the parts of yourself you want to share, and I promise to offer tools & information that you can carry with you after are sessions have concluded.
FAQs
-
Herbalism is a traditional healing practice that takes both the art, science, and tradition of medicinal plants to promote health and prevent illness. Every culture around the world uses some form of these healing practices of herbal medicine.
-
Herbalists are people who work with herbal medicine in various ways. Some herbalists can include naturopaths, researchers, medicine makers, Indigenous healers, midwives, doulas, wildcrafters, and farmers. What unites these groups of people is the interest of how plants and humans relate together in the world. A clinical herbalist has a background in looking at root causes of symptomatic expression by using plant energetics, plant actions, and a constitutional framework to identify imbalances in the body.
-
Most pharmaceuticals in the US are often synthesized, refined, single chemical substances. Herbs are a complex system of hundreds of thousands of interrelated compounds that work synergistically that science doesn’t always have the answers to. At one point in time, around 85% of modern drugs were originally derived from plants. Today, around 15% of drugs originate from plants.
-
Herbs can offer a wide therapeutic range of support that can be implemented in a general care protocol. Some of the main ways herbal medicine can benefit one's health journey are: preventing disease states, supporting over health potential, offering symptomatic relief, and assisting with minor ailments, and chronic health issues.
-
This all depends on the herb. When used appropriately, the majority of herbs used by herbal practitioners are safe and have no adverse side effects. It is a rare occurrence for side effects to occur.
-
This depends on a variety of factors. It can be as short as 2 minutes when taking a bitter formula to support gas and bloating relief, a few days if someone has caught the flu, or months if working on a chronic issue. When working with long-standing chronic imbalances, herbs might take some time to stimulate the body’s healing mechanisms and to reverse the pattern it has been set in.
-
The herbs that are used in my clinical practice are all organic and never sprayed with chemicals. They are either ordered through various small organic farmers that are local to the Pacific Northwest, hand-harvested wildly, or grown personally in my garden.
-
They are not. This is because each person’s herbal recommendations will be different. After the consultation, I inform you of the options and prices of each formula, and then you decide what you would like to order.
-
As a clinical herbalist, I am unable to take insurance
-
I accept cash, Venmo, PayPal or credit card (via Stripe).
